scholarships that have come across my desk. Many of these you
seniors have already heard about. If you wish to get more
information on these scholarships you may access many of them
on-line or stop by my office for applications. Check back to this
list regularly as I will be adding to it as new scholarships come
to my attention. If you have not done a scholarship
search this is an excellent way to find more scholarships you may
be eligible for. Check another article I have published on

Criteria:Although
they will be looking at academics and activities, the emphasis
seems to be on significant individual volunteerism to the

Comments:There will
be one $10,000 winner in each state, plus 10 national winners who
will receive an additional $15,000 each. As with all national
programs, applicants need to have accomplished something very major
and significant on an individual basis in order to be competitive
in this program.

Criteria:The
traits used for selection are: demonstrated leadership, commitment
to the community, academic achievement, and employment. While the
application asks for family income, this is NOT used in the
selection process.
Comments:Since this
is a national program, applicants should be well-qualified in all
four areas used in the selection process. While there are 250
scholarships available, last year there were nearly 80,000
applicants. When applying on-line, you will be asked for our
school's CEEB number, which is 172-747.

Monsanto imagine Commitment to Agriculture
Scholarships
This scholarship
was established in 1999 and Monsanto has awarded farm youth
pursuing an education and career in agriculture with over
$1,000,000.00. This year in partnership with the National
Association of Farm Broadcasters, they are once again awarding 100
high school seniors with $1500.00 scholarships.

Discover Card Tribute Scholarship Program for

Tribute Award Scholarship Program
The
Discover Card Tribute Award Scholarship is unique in that it
is one of the few that is directed to juniors.
This scholarship
provides up to ten $25,000.00 national scholarships and up to 300
$2,500.00 scholarships. This tribute honors the all-around
accomplishments of juniors in their community as well as at
school. Test scores nor financial need is considered.
This scholarship allows it winners to use their scholarship for any
type of U. S. post-secondary education or training in any certified
training program, trade and technical school, community college,
two or four year college or university they
choose.
Juniors who have
a minimum grade point average of 2.75 for the 9th and
10th grades who take lead, have experienced a
significant obstacles and who are giving back to their
communities.

The 2006 Sam Walton Community
Scholarship

The Sam Walton Community
Scholarship is available on line from November 1, 2005 through
January 20, 2006. Interested graduating high school seniors
need to logon to www.walmartfoundation.org for more information.
These students will apply for the Sam Walton Community
Scholarship on-line at www.scholarshipadministrators.net.
Applicants must use the access code (SCWS) to complete the
application process. No paper applications are available.
In addition
to submitting the online application, students must submit all
required information to Scholarship Administrators (SPA) as
directed on the ont line application by January 20,
2006.
Applications submitted after the deadline or to any other
address will not be forwarded and will be considered
ineligible.
This
scholarship is a nonrenewable $1000.00 for a student's first year
of undergraduate study at an accredited college or university.
To qualify, the student must be a graduating high school
senior and may not be a Wal-Mart or SAM'S CLUB Associate, or be the
child or legal dependent of a Wal-Mart or SAM'S CLUB
Associate.
