Blue Jackets, Gold Standards was the theme of the 2006 National
FFA Convention. Despite many transportation challenges Becky
Storm, Tiffany Petrzelka, Kaleigh Kaspar, Whitney Collins, Josh
Wade, and Kelsey Maris took a trip to Indianapolis, Indiana for the
2006 National FFA Convention. They left for the trip on
Tuesday, October 24th and returned home on Saturday, October
28th. The week was filled with exciting events. The
members were able to attend sessions hosted by National FFA
officers. The Career show and Hall of States were highlights
of the trip. They also were able to tour the Indy500 Speedway
and the NCAA Hall of Champions. They attended sessions in
Conseco Fieldhouse, home of the Indiana Pacers, and events in the
RCA Dome, home of the Indianapolis Colts. On Wednesday night, the
members were luckily able to go to a Carrie Underwood and Jason
Aldean concert at the RCA Dome, thanks to an Oregon FFA
Chapter. FFA dances were held both Thursday and Friday
nights, and were great opportunities to meet new people. The
National Convention has contributed many new ideas for the FFA
chapter and was a great experience for the six members in
attendance.
