Prague Students Perform at East Butler Music Contest

Prague Students Perform at  East Butler Music Contest

Fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth graders from Prague Public Schools participated in the East Butler Music Contest on March 29 in Brainard, NE.

            The contest is designed for elementary and middle school aged students, who can choose to perform either vocal or instrumental pieces of music in solos, duets, trios, or any number of configurations. The judges rate the students on their performance, giving them scores based on a scale of I-V, the former being the best.

            Events from Prague receiving a Superior rating (I) were: Morgan Bruneau, Emily Malina and Kylie Senstock, girls trio; Zeb Cooper, Matt Smaus and Alan Sousek, boys trio; Zana Rhynalds, Sarah Vanek and Tiffany Wesely, girls trio; Mikala Havlovic, Cheyenne Paseka and Sammy Prohaska, girls trio; Mikala Havlovic, Kaytlin Johnson, Abby Kubik and Cheyenne Paseka, girls quartet; Morgan Bruneau, vocal solo; Brandon Jacobson, vocal solo; Kylie Senstock, vocal solo; Sarah Vanek, piano solo; Morgan Bruneau and Emily Malina, clarinet duet; Zeb Cooper and Matt Smaus, saxophone/trumpet duet; Kaytlin Johnson, Abby Kubik and Tiffany Wesely, clarinet trio; Alex Muessigmann and Logan Wade, snare drum duet; Austin Wade, trumpet solo; Brandon Jacobson, horn solo; Scott Paseka, trombone solo; Brooke Vanek, tenor sax solo; and Alex Muessigmann, snare drum solo.

            Events from Prague receiving an Excellent rating (II) were: Girls Duet by Zana Rhynalds and Sarah Vanek; Zana Rhynalds, vocal solo; Katie Arp, vocal solo; Sarah Booze, vocal solo; Zack Strauss and Austin Wade, trumpet duet; Amber and Sarah Booze, girls duet; Cole Prochaska and Dylan TePoel, trumpet duet; Matt Smaus and Alan Sousek, trumpet duet; Amber Booze, flute solo; and Katie Arp, clarinet solo.
