TITLE 1 READING AND MATH-AMANDA BRAY

Hi, my name is Amanda Bray and I am very excited to be the Title 1 K-6th reading/math teacher and the 8th grade reading teacher!  I am also the Student Council sponsor.  I am excited to get to know students of all ages!  I am from Fremont and I graduated from Midland Lutheran College with a bachelor’s degree in elementary and early childhood education.  I student taught in Fremont at Linden Elementary School with second grade and at Grant Elementary School with kindergarten.  I also worked as a paraprofessional at the Washington School summer reading camp.

ENGLISH DEPARTMENT AND SPEECH & DRAMA - ERIN CICO-KNOWLTON

Just like your child, I am the product of a small farming community, Brule, Nebraska, and I could not have asked for a better place to grow up!  After high school graduation, I attended Doane College, graduating in 2004 with a BA in Mass Communications.  In 2006, I returned to Doane for my teaching certificate.  I hope to finish a Master’s in Education by 2010.  Additionally, I have spent the last four years as the Assistant Director of Forensics for Doane College, which has given me a wealth of experience to bring as Head Coach of the Prague Speech Team.  My husband Adam and I were married over the summer and recently moved to Fremont from Lincoln.

MATH DEPARTMENT-MICHAEL DAVIDSON

I am very excited about teaching at Prague and am looking forward to becoming an integral part of the community.

I earned Bachelors degrees in Mathematics and Economics at California State University, Bakersfield. I am three classes away from a Masters degree in secondary education at UNL. I also possess associate’s degrees in computer science and psychology from Bakersfield College.

I bring several years of education experience to the classroom. I worked four years in the math department at Bakersfield College, two years at Cal State Bakersfield, and two years with the Behavioral Skills Department at Lincoln Public Schools.

In addition to teaching experience, I have also worked in many fields such as a youth specialist, applications engineer, aircraft construction, business management, route sales, and in an autocad lab.

I moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in 2005 with my wife Jennifer and daughter Hailey.

We absolutely adore Nebraska and its people.

I look forward to any and all communication with both parents and students.

Please feel free to contact me at any time.

AGRICULTURE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT AND FFA-JARED TROUMBLEY

His responsibility was with the ACE Leadership Institute.  A leadership Institute developed for Land grant Universities throughout the US, to help the next generation of leader be prepared for the challenges of leadership.  Jared assisted in the planning and development of curriculum, as well as coordination of the physical and technological logistics of the Institute.  Prior to returning to school to continue his education Jared was employed as an irrigation equipment salesman, as well as a store manager.  He worked with a company that supplied and designed irrigation systems for homeowners, landscapers, and farmers.  His hobbies include reading (recently finished The Anatomy of Peace by the Arbinger Institute), outdoor activities especially hunting, camping and horseback riding, in the last couple years he has also added working and driving draft horses to his lists of hobbies.  Jared lives in Lincoln with his wife Tina and 6 month old son Trenton.

KINDERGARTEN-JULIE WARFORD

My name is Julie (Gaughen) Warford.  Some of you may already recognize me because I was here at the end of last year substitute teaching in the 1st & 2nd grade for Mrs. Brabec when she went on maternity leave.

I know what it’s like being part of a small school.  I was born and raised in the town of Cedar Bluffs and graduated from high school in 1999.  After high school, I went to college at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln where I majored in Elementary Education, played on the softball team, and was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority.  After graduating in 2003, I married my high school sweetheart, Carl, and we moved to Omaha where I began working as a preschool teacher and an assistant director of a preschool and childcare center in Papillion.  In 2006, our first daughter was born.  Her name is Kylie and she is now 2 ½ years old.

Currently, the three of us live in Ashland.

During my time here at Prague, I will be teaching kindergarten and assisting Mr. Jahde in girls basketball.  I am very excited to be back and look forward to getting to know each and every one of you!
