Option Enrollment Offers Your Child An Educational Alternative
Prague Public School welcomes and encourages area students and parents to investigate the educational opportunities available for all students. Furthermore, students and parents are encouraged to option enroll to the school district beginning with the 2009-2010 school year.
Prague Public School is a K-12 school system that provides each student access to solid academics, fine arts and vocation classroom programs and extracurricular activities. Extracurricular activities allow members of the 7-12 student body the opportunity to participate in athletics, music, drama, speech, and student government. In addition, the school system offers Title 1 Reading and Math and Special Education services for its special needs population.
Certificated staff members are endorsed in all assigned areas of instruction per state certification standards and are highly qualified per the guidelines of No Child Left Behind legislation. The K-12 students/teacher ratio is less than 8 students per teacher.
"The deadline for option enrollment without the approval of the resident district is Wednesday, March 15, 2009."
Enrollment Option Students: Students who transfer under the Enrollment Option Program will be immediately eligible in the fall for varsity competition if the student’s Enrollment Option Application was signed, filed, and approved by March 15, 2009. Students whose Enrollment Option Applications are approved after March 15, 2009, shall be ineligible for 90 school days. Beginning with the March 15, 2009, transfer deadline, any student who files transfer paperwork and who elects not to transfer in the fall shall become ineligible for 90 school days in his/her current school.
