What a wonderful year we've had in kindergarten! To mark the end of the first full week of school, each student created their own "Pride Panel", which included information about themselves that they were proud to share, such as pictures of their friends, family, and some of their favorite things. Boy, did they turned out great! During homecoming week, our very own Joshua Malina and Samantha Eaton were selected by the P-Club to be the king and queen crown bearers during coronation at the homecoming football game. They did a fabulous job! In October and April, we once again celebrated Halloween and Easter with parties thrown by the women of the ZCBJ. We had a lot of fun and were very appreciative of their efforts. For Christmas, we all took the time to write a letter to Santa. Each of them were published in the Wahoo Newspaper closer to the holiday. It put a smile on my face to read them! On January 23rd, we celebrated the 100th day of school. We found 100 happy faces in magazines and made "100th Day Heavenly Hash". It was yummy! In February, we helped collect money for "Pennies for Patients", which is an organization that raises money for children with cancer. I'm proud to say that I had 100% participation in my class! Each student also wrote a letter to a child in remission telling them a little bit about themselves. We enjoyed reading the letters that they wrote back to us too! We finally reached our "You Rock!" goal in March for making good choices throughout the school year up to that point in time. We celebrated with a pizza party during lunch.
As you can see, the kindergarten room has had a very eventful year. Our newest kindergarten graduates have many things to celebrate and I hope they have a fun and a safe summer!
