Freshmen and Sophomores Learn Croquet

by Greg Jahde

May 27, 2009

As a new addition to the physical education curriculum, the freshmen and sophomores learned how to play the game of croquet.  Some of the students said that they had played the game before, but most of them had never played the game in the official manner.  Students played the game for two weeks learning the rules, terminology, and most importantly developing strategy to help them win.

Croquet is a great family game that can be played between 2-6 players.  The playing area for the game is supposed to be 100 feet long by 50 feet wide, but could be adjusted to fit the area you have available.  A croquet set is relatively inexpensive and can be purchased at many sporting goods stores as well as other stores.  This a great game for family to spend some time together that any of the freshmen or sophomores could teach you.
