Zeb Cooper places third at State Geography Bee
Zebulon Cooper, a seventh grade student at the Prague Public Schools, finished in third place in the 2009 Nebraska Geography Bee. The state Bee was held on Friday, April 3, 2009, at the University of Nebraska–Omaha. One hundred students qualified for the state semifinals and after the first round of eight questions, Cooper qualified for the final round. The top ten students then competed, answering both oral and written questions. Cooper tied with another student and earned third place by winning the tiebreaker question. The state winner came from Logan Fontenelle Middle School in Bellevue and the state runner-up came from Papillion Junior High.
