Prague High Student Vote 2008

On Monday, October 27, Prague secondary students participated in the Nebraska Student Vote project. Grades 7 through 12 participated in the mock election. Results of the Prague vote were reported to the website of the Nebraska Secretary of State. Voting took place in Nebraska schools between Monday and Wednesday and final results were tallied on the website Thursday afternoon. The Nebraska Student Vote is a project of the Nebraska Secretary of State’s Office and the Omaha World-Herald. Statewide results are found at www.nestudentvote.com In Prague results, Barack Obama won the presidential race with 51% to John McCain’s 42% of the student vote. Ralph Nader and Bob Barr each received 3% of the vote. Mike Johanns defeated Scott Kleeb 49 to 38 percent in the United States Senate race while Jeff Fortenberry defeated Max Yashirin 82 to 18 percent in the First Congressional District race.
