Saddle up the horses! It's time to study the Oregon Trail!
Mrs. Hampl's 3rd & 4th grade have been learning all about the movement westward across the United States. The students were grouped into "wagons" as you can see in the picture during their study sessions.
Students also built their own miniature wagons as a science project. The goal: see if their wagon could both support an egg when pulled (the makeshift wagon needed wheels) and float while holding an egg.
Some students' projects included: legos, foam, toothpicks, wood blocks, and more. Ask anyone in the class to explain the beautiful wagons. You'll be sure to hear some fascinating stories!
