Students get ready for Summer Workouts

by Greg Jahde

May 22, 2010

At the end of the school year, students were given the opportunity to show how hard they had worked in the weight room during physical education class by maxing out in four different lifts. Those lifts included bench press, parallel squat, hang cleans, and incline bench.  Many students made gains from where they had been at the beginning of the year and were able to reach goals that they had set for themselves.  Students were given sheets to record their performance and are supposed to use them as a guideline for their summer workouts.  In order to reach maximum performance on either the field or court, athletes need to work hard during the summer in the weight room.  Some athletes may not enjoy being in the weight room, but without it, they will not reach their full potential.
