Happenings in the Resource Room

The year has moved by quickly in the resource room. The students have used many different activities to reinforce the skills they have learned in the regular classroom. Some of the activities or games that they have enjoyed are bingo, jeopardy, and four-in-a-row. By playing these games the students not only worked on academics but social skills as well. Some students read and did various activities with library books to help them on reading skills. They read books from the Magic Tree House series to books about kites. They made kites, puzzles, or just did basic comprehension questions over the book. Other students had a new opportunity to do class work with a new computer program, Odyssey. The program has lessons for the students to work through and then they are tested over the material to see what they have learned. So even though the year moved by quickly, the students in the resource room not only learned to have fun but had fun learning.
